About Alex Cook
I am a Merchandise Manager in the Entertainment Division of Wal-Mart. In layman's terms, I work with a group of professional buyers that are responsible for buying all the pc's (and cool stuff that plugs into the PC's) for the Wal-Mart stores in the U.S. Wal-Mart is the only company I have worked for in my professional career -- over 14 years. I am an accountant by trade that has spent time in Audit, Finance, Operations and Merchandising during those 14 years. In my hours spent away from Wal-Mart, I spend time with my beautiful wife and three daughters. Yes, I said three -- and they are all under seven right now, so it is relatively manageable. Pray for me in 10 years. I also play golf whenever possible and recently took up running. But for the record, the running was a mistake. I highly recommend avoiding it at all costs -- it is too much work. My wife is a marathoner, so my stupid ego got involved and now my body is paying for it. I am hopeful that blogging will get my heart rate up, so I can conveniently forget about the running thing.
